Corn & Storm

Tornado warning, severe thunderstorms in an RV park in Iowa! It doesn't get any more midwest!  After a very nice and relaxing stay at Camp Turkeyville in Marshall, MI we arrived in Anana, IA to blue skies that soon turned very dark an ominous clouds and  we were officially under a tornado warning. I have never in my life seen such a storm. Black clouds, lightening that seem more like a strobe light going off and wind gusts that I thought were going to roll the RV over. Being from New England and used to having days and weeks to prepare for a hurricane or blizzard, we were not liking the idea that nature could simply produce a twister at any moment and any time.  Heading to South Dakota today. Hopefully mother nature will let us get through Iowa without incident.

Michigan was great. Pictures to come but a much more relaxing time than waiting out the storm in IA. Kids played in the pool, roasted marshmallows and watched a huge firefly display at night in the corn field at the edge of the park.

And we're off!

Post from MOM...Left yesterday (Wed, 6/25)  and spent the day driving north to Niagra Fall ON.  Much nicer doing a long trip in the RV than a car. Played games, drew pictures and we've spotted about half the states on our license plate bingo game.  I've learned that my role while under way will be about on par with an airline steward....keeping seatbelts buckled, cabinet doors secured and constantly serving refreshments to keep the passengers happy and the pilot hydrated and alert!

Staying at Jellystone RV park (we are officially RV people). Big playground for the kids, a pool and lots to do. Heading to see Niagra Falls shortly. Stay tuned...more to come!
