The Badlands

There's nothing bad about The Badlands.  Well, maybe because it is 2014 and we toured it in an RV with all the amenities. I can see if you were trying to survive on the plains in the 1800s how the name would come to be.

Beautiful rock formations.  The girls loved fossil trail where you can actually climb on the rocks (I was actually surprised they allow this since it seems like they would start to erode. We tried to be gentle!)  Did the loop and took the RV on the gravel road to the wilderness area. Worth the trip as we saw prairie dogs, Bison and an owl of some kind.

Went back to our campground site via Wall, SD and a stop Walldrug for ice cream and trinkets.  Back to Badlands KOA which was great for pool and s'mores. It doesn't get any better.
